Some of these notes and sites are of interest only to residents of Colorado, but most are of general interest.

Critical Links for Election 2004

US Senate Races

I was a strong Bob Schaffer supporter, but we all must now get behind Pete Coors as this is one US Senate seat we just can't afford to lose. The differences between the candidates could not be more stark. If you believe in the sanctity of life, the millenia old definition of marriage, that judges must only interpret the law - not exceed their authority and write it, the right of parents to send their children to the school of their choice, that we are taxed too much, or the right of citizens to self defense, then you must vote for Pete Coors in November.

Salazar v. Coors - http://salazarvcoors.blogspot.com/ - The best place to go for up to date news and commentary on this critical race. Get the news the newspapers don't want to cover.

Ken Salazar's official campaign website.

Pete Coors official campaign website.

The National Republican Senatorial Committee.

Blogs - The new source of un-filtered news, bypassing the Leftist "News Media" in the USA.

Best of the Web Today. James Taranto's wonderful links and comments published most weekday afternoons.

Hugh Hewitt. This blog suppliments his great radio show heard Mon - Fri from 4 to 7 PM on KNUS 710 AM in Denver.

Drudge Report. One of the oldest alternative news sources on the Internet, Matt Drudge is best known for breaking the Monica Lewinsky story.

Rocky Mountain Alliance of Bloggers. A group of loosely affiliated bloggers from Colorado and the Rocky Mountain region. An excellent source of local news.

All concerned Christians should vote where it counts, in the primaries, conventions, and caucuses. By the time we reach the general elections we are often left with the choice of voting for the lesser of two evils. If we get involved in our precinct caucuses, and take the time to attend the County and State Conventions, then we have the ability to choose who gets on the ballot. Check with the Secretary of State in your state for the rules in your area. In general you must be a registered voter and affiliated with the party of your choice for some minimum number of days before the precinct caucus. Then you just show up for the caucus. In most precincts only 1 to 10 people bother to show up. The precinct caucus chooses who represents the precinct in the County and State conventions. If you show up with a few friends you will often be in the majority and be able to select who goes to the conventions. Even if you show up by yourself, you will often be able to go since many precincts don't have enough interested people who wish to attend the conventions. Try to go as a delegate not as an alternate. Alternates don't get to vote unless someone doesn't show.

In Colorado, the Secretary of State has a web site with election information.

Alan Keyes see Declaration Foundation

Alliance Defense Fund
http://www.alliancedefensefund.org/
"The Alliance Defense Fund is a unique Christian legal organization that works to protect and defend traditional family values, religious freedom, and the sanctity of human life. The leaders of 30+ ministries founded ADF in 1994, including Dr. James Dobson of Focus on the Family, Dr. Bill Bright of Campus Crusade for Christ, and Dr. D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries. Their prime concern: the dramatic loss of religious freedom and the ability of people of faith to live and share the Gospel."

The American Anti-Slavery Group
http://www.iabolish.com/
"The American Anti-Slavery Group, Inc. is the only American organization solely dedicated to abolishing slavery worldwide. We monitor, document, and publicize the plight of slaves around the globe. Our special focus is on black chattel slavery in North Africa and involuntary servitude in the United States."

American Center for Law and Justice
Another one of Pat Robertson's organizations, see Christian Broadcasting Network below. While it appears they are doing good work for Christians using our legal system, I would caution against ever giving them money. You will be subjected to an endless stream of begging emails and recorded phone messages from Jay Alan Sekulow their Chief Counsel. It took threatening legal action to get them to stop sending me spam and calling me at home.

American Family Association
http://www.afa.net/
"Supporting traditional family values." Loads of information for the Christian voter.

Banner of Liberty

http://ChristianAnswers.Net/
Eight Christian organizations came together to present Christian answers in 17 languages.

Christian Broadcasting Network
Christian Coalition

I no longer support these organizations due to Pat Robertson's support for China's policy of forced abortion for population control. Pat Robertson is the founder and chairman of both groups. He also has millions invested in business ventures in China, while avoiding evangelism there. It appears that his support for the Communist dictators of China is due to his desire to protect his financial investments at the expense of his beliefs. Pray for Pat.
